Jacques Martiquet

Jacques Martiquet, aka The Party Scientist, created Joymaking—a science-backed method for bringing people and rooms to life through laughter, play, dance, and connection practices.

His mission is to help people reclaim their natural joy without substances, screens, or stuff—through human connection. He founded Joymaker Camp, invented the Joymaking methodology, and built a growing free community of Joymakers across 10+ countries.

Jacques discovered this mission in 2015 while working as a festival medic and witnessing young people destroy themselves with drugs and alcohol. The experience inspired him to explore a different way of creating collective joy. His work has since been featured by VICE, ELLE, Maclean’s, and Global News.

Armed with a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacology, Jacques traded the traditional medical path for a giant human experiment in joy. Since 2017, he has led thousands of experiences across 15+ countries, from international festival stages to workplaces including Accenture and LUSH Cosmetics.

Today, Jacques is building a world with more Joymakers: people with the skills and courage to bring rooms to life, making others feel alive, open, connected, and safe to express themselves.

His flagship experience, Joymaker Camp, is a first-of-its-kind, multi-day leadership laboratory hosted in a private mansion, where people put down their phones and learn the practice of joymaking. Through immersive experiments in presence, play, connection, and group leadership, participants don't just study Joymaking, they live it.

Jacques' bigger vision is to turn Joymaking into a global movement: a world with more people willing and able to bring their rooms, relationships, and communities to life. Schools. Retirement homes. Public squares. Workplaces. You name it.
