Susan Freeland (she/her)
Susan's favourite activity is sharing laughter with all ages and seeing joy spread from person to person as they laugh together and do deep breathing exercises. Susan has benefited health-wise from therapeutic laughter wellness sessions for several years. Her mom, children and grandchildren enjoy doing laughter exercises and contributing new ideas and themes. Their imagination skills have expanded as they participated.
I love camping, biking, aquafit, crafts, kayaking, hiking, gardening and leading laughter in local Laughter Clubs, homeschool groups and online laughter sessions. I have been leading and participating in Therapeutic Laughter Wellness classes since 2018 when I was introduced to Laughter Yoga at a 5 day Brain Retraining Neuroplasticity Health Conference (DNRS).
I received my Certified Laughter Yoga Leader certification (CLYL) in 2021 and my Certified Laughter Yoga Teacher certification (CLYT) in 2025. I have led Laughter sessions online and in person at my community library, at ladies’ retreats, children's camps, leadership training events for youth and young adults and at a Laughter Joy Festival. I run weekly Laughter Clubs in my local community for a broad range of participants. This September I will be leading a workshop (Laughter with Imagination and Props) at the North American Laughter Conference in Vancouver BC.
I have led laughter sessions with all ages from preschool children to seniors. I enjoy using themes for my in-person and online Laughter Classes. Themes include: Baby Showers, Christmas, Camping, Outdoors, Bridal Showers, Seasons (Spring to Winter), Chicken theme, Narwhal, nature, faith based Christian and other animal themes. I am heading to a Canadian National Youth Camp of 600 participants this July to lead 8 ninety minute laughter/dance/games sessions. I am looking forward to learning new ideas, sharing and especially connecting with laughter with everyone.
