The Skill of Joymaking:
Bring Any Room to Life

What if you could walk into almost any room and make it feel more alive? Without being the loudest. Without being a performer.

Joymaking is the science and practice of elevating human energy and emotion: helping people laugh, connect, participate, and feel safe enough to fully express themselves. And it’s not a personality trait reserved for extroverts, entertainers, or charismatic facilitators. It’s a learnable skill.

In this highly participatory session, Jacques Martiquet—aka The Party Scientist—will turn the room into a live laboratory for human connection. You’ll experience the science of joy firsthand while learning practical frameworks you can use in meetings, workshops, conferences, classrooms, dinners, and everyday interactions.

Through three core Joymaking skills—Vitality, Social Intelligence, and Group Activation—you’ll discover how small shifts in your own behavior can change the emotional state of an entire room.

Expect movement. Expect laughter. Expect to meet people. And expect to leave with tools you can use the very same day.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Create energy and participation without forcing it

  • Help people feel safer, more open, and more expressive

  • Turn awkwardness, silence, and hesitation into connection

  • Bring rooms to life, even when you’re not “in charge”
